Canadian Problems
As a Canadian resident, you will find that the unemployment rate is no different than many other parts of the developed civilization. Essentially there is no difference in what each of us wants and desires for ourselves, our families and our futures. Unfortunately, working for someone else.... and we hear this often.... is making someone else wealthy off of our own sweat and energy. Finding a viable, legitimate and profitable home based business is the answer to the never ending desire for the elusive time and financial freedom. To prove my point, let's take a look at the Canadian unemployment statistics:
Canadian Unemployment The employment level fell by 55,000 during the month of August (2008), but there has been an increase of 227,000 over the past 12 months. Ken Georgetti, president of the Canadian Labour Congress said: "These numbers are truly shocking. Canadians haven’t experienced job losses like this since 17 years ago, when the country was in full recession. Since this time last year, we’ve lost another 88,000 manufacturing jobs. Now, in the middle of the summer, we’re seeing people give up on the job market altogether. This is a catastrophe for working families." Not only did employment shrink, but Canadians began showing signs of discouragement at not being able to find work. A total of 74,000 people left the job market last month (July 2008). Employment declines in Central Canada in JulyEmployment in Quebec declined by 30,000 in July, pushing the unemployment rate up 0.2 percentage points to 7.4%. Quebec's employment level is little changed from a year ago as employment increases in construction; professional, scientific and technical services; and manufacturing, were offset by weakness in trade; and information, culture and recreation. In July, employment in Ontario edged down by 19,000, all in full time. The unemployment rate declined 0.3 percentage points to 6.4%, as 42,000 people, mostly youth aged 15 to 24, left the labour market. Since July 2007, Ontario's employment is up 1.2%, slightly below the national average. Large losses in manufacturing have been more than offset by gains in public administration; health care and social assistance; construction; and educational services. Statistics Canada
